What We Do

 

At Wildfire Research Group, our purpose is deeply rooted in the wealth of experience accumulated by our team members across diverse careers in both the public and private sectors of firefighting. Drawing upon this collective investment of time, training, and expertise, we possess a well grounded understanding of the strengths and limitations inherent in the delivery of firefighting resources. While government agencies and private sector partners each bring invaluable strengths to the table, we recognize the need for innovative solutions to bridge potential gaps between these sectors.

Our commitment is to serve as a catalyst for positive change within the industry, fostering critical analysis of challenges and advocating for solutions that optimize outcomes for the public we serve and promote mutual benefit for all stakeholders. Our focus areas include:

  • Facilitating constructive business relationships between private fire contractors and federal agencies
  • Advocating for small businesses navigating the complexities of emergency services government contracting
  • Evaluating policies and practices to ensure they align with the best interests of the public and industry stakeholders
  • Promoting comprehensive training programs to support the diverse resources of the private sector, while upholding the safety and efficacy standards of the National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG)
  • Providing custom research services tailored to address industry challenges brought forth by stakeholders, both public and private
  • Offering consulting services for Vendor Incident Preparedness and Response (VIPR) vendors, encompassing equipment specifications, training and qualifications guidance, contract compliance, and related concerns.

Through our multidimensional approach, we aim to drive positive transformations in the wildfire suppression community, fostering collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
